A Guide to Elimination and Challenge Test Dieting: Day 43

I felt a little bit icky when I got up this morning, which I have to assume is a result of the sugar I ate over the weekend. I’d really like to do a new challenge test for sugar in a few weeks, just to be certain. But the sour stomach today seems to be a good indication that I really do have some kind of intolerance. But the good news is that it seems to take about three days before it causes any symptoms, and one week seems to be long enough to settle the reaction down. (The bad news is that it also stirs up all kinds of sugar cravings, so that’s not happy.)

Despite the sour stomach, today I tested yeast. I meant to do it last week, but I was either too busy or too tired to go out and find some good gluten-free bread so that I could test it.

The Menu

Breakfast

  • Simply Orange juice
  • cashews

Lunch

  • Challenge Test: yeast

For this challenge test, I ate three slices of Rudi’s Original Gluten-Free Bread. It wasn’t bad—I think I could handle eating GF bread like this, if gluten really is a problem.

Dinner

  • Five Guys burger, Rudi’s GF bread as bun
  • fries

Yes, again! They’re just so good—and it’s so nice to not have to make my own meal. Although I do still have some turkey in the freezer for use in a good turkey soup. I just need the vegetables … Someday. Soon.

Snacks

  • Key Lime Pie Lära Bar
  • cashews
  • Sobe Life Water (Mango Melon)
  • a few bites of Rain Forest milk chocolate with almonds

The Results

Pulse Rate

  • Starting: 62 bpm
  • 20 min: 59 bpm
  • 40 min: 61 bpm
  • 60 min: 63 bpm

Symptoms

None to speak of. Felt great!

Verdict

Yeast: OK!
